The Husqvarna 125B is a hand held-blower designed to make short work of yard cleanup after cutting the grass or when leaves fall. Featuring a 2-cycle engine for power, the 125B is set at the factory to provide optimal service. Due to normal use, there may be times when the blower does not perform as it should. Before taking the Husqvarna blower in for repair, spend a few minutes and perform some basic troubleshooting to potentially diagnose and correct the problem.

Follow the directions from the manufacturer for starting the blower. Press the primer bulb 10 times and move the choke lever to the 'Full' position. Set the blower on the ground and move the variable speed control lever forward. Hold the blower and pull the starter cord until the engine attempts to start, but pull no more than three times.

Move the choke lever to the middle or 'half choke' position and pull the cord to start the engine. Allow the engine to run for 10 seconds or so, and then move the choke lever to the 'Run' position.

Remove the spark plug if the engine will not start, lacks power, will not accelerate properly or dies under load. Remove the spark plug wire from the plug tip. Unscrew the plug from the engine with a spark plug wrench and examine the plug for damage. Brush away light carbon deposits and replace a damaged or badly scorched plug. Install the plug with the wrench and connect the spark plug wire to the tip of the plug.

Remove the cover from the air filter housing and pull out the filter if the engine will not accelerate properly, lacks power or smokes excessively. Wash the filter with liquid dish detergent under running water. Rinse the filter thoroughly and allow it to dry before installing it back in the housing. Secure the cover in place on the filter housing before using.

Pour old stale fuel out of the fuel tank on the engine and replace it with fresh fuel mix if the engine smokes or runs hot. Mix fresh fuel by adding 2 1/2 ounces of 50-to-1 ratio 2-cycle engine oil with 1 gallon of gas. Measure the oil and pour it in a fuel container, and then add 1 gallon of gas. Shake the container to mix the gas and oil, and then pour it into the blower fuel tank.

Start the blower and allow it to run for a few minutes. Adjust the idle speed screw if the blower engine will not idle on its own or idles too fast without the trigger throttle pressed. Locate the idle speed screw on the side of the carburetor and behind the air filter. Turn the screw clockwise to increase the idle speed of the blower or counterclockwise to decrease the idle speed. Make one-fourth turns until the blower engine idles and operates smoothly with and without the trigger throttle pressed.
